This product has been excellent for portion control. My husband is dieting and eats one small box every morning with 1% milk. He is losing weight!! the special k is fine, athough i am suprised at what i consiider to be high sodium level.

my case of this product arrived in an open cardboard box from kellogg's with out being sealed i suppose they are trying to save money, thus the special promotion, another shipment like this, and i will not be ordering any food items from amazon i live in the city and any one or anything could have munched on my special k containers and if their was rain i would not be starting my da with special k.

You need to try this cereal in order to form your own opinion. I eat this cereal every single day for breakfast. It is my favorite cereal and I absolutely love it! I have never thought the chocolate tasted waxy.. I make sure to eat every last chocolately piece in my bowl. My husband doesn't like it, and I buy the Vanilla Almond for him, and I've talked to other people who don't like it, but my personal opinion is that it is absolutely yummy. They usually have it on sale at Rite-Aid for 2 for $5 every couple weeks or so, and that is when I stock up on it.

After eating this product I promptly ordered a case of pepto bismol and toothpaste. Why the combo? Well first off I havn't had a solid turd in 3 days. If that wasn't bad enough, the fake chocolate left brown wax residue all over my teeth, so it looks like I just munched on a solid turd.

So some people didn't like that weird feeling the chocolate left in your mouth that people mentioned as a "waxy" feeling, but I personally enjoyed the taste of this a lot, and I bought this quite a bit until I realized there's trans-fat in the cereal.



In the ingredients, the cereal contains "PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED PALM KERNEL OIL", which for those who may not know, but anything "hydrogenated" contains a very small amount of trans-fat.



It may only be less than .5 grams and so in the nutrition panel, they can show that there's 0 trans fat in the cereal, but if you had 3-4 servings of chocolatey delight, you could very well be eating 1-2 grams of trans-fat. Just be forewarned.



Anyways, give the cereal a try if you haven't, and don't just think you'll hate the taste of it just because others didn't like the taste of it because I enjoyed the flavor of the cereal very much.

I realize that many people don't like this cereal because the chocolate is too "waxy" -- and I agree that it does have a waxier consistency than regular chocolate. But for some reason, I absolutely love this cereal and buy it constantly. I don't mind the consistency of the chocolate pieces when I'm eating it all together with the flakes and milk. I've really been hooked on this cereal for more than a year now, though I realize that it's not for everyone.

I bought this cereal recently. The flakes are good-they don't get too soggy. The chocolate, not so good. It left a thick waxy coating on the roof of my mouth. I didn't think the taste was bad overall, just didn't like the waxy feeling. I will finish the box, but I doubt I'll buy it again. I guess that's what I get for trying to eat chocolate for breakfast!

This is great!!! I always purchased them in the local market, but Kellogg's no longer is distributing this to the retail market. I was so upset, I have a box every morning. Kellogg's Shredded Wheat Miniatures are the perfect cold cereal because they are nothing but pure 100% whole wheat with nothing added (except vitamins and iron). No sugar has been added and the sodium content is zero! Besides, they are delicious! I have given this product four stars instead of five because my second case arrived in very bad condition - seriously crushed. Nevertheless, I still consider this the best cold cereal on the market.

I love the cereal and opted to purchase in the single servings in large quantity for convenience in bringing it to work, which was also less expensive. The single serving size also assured portion control, as it's so easy to kid yourself that you're eating less than you actually are.



Unfortunately, the home delivery didn't work out so well for me. I placed my order and watched the delivery date. I even checked the porch when I got home the day before it was due to arrive - and again later in the evening. The next morning as I left for work, what do I find but the box of cereal. The box had apparently been delivered very late - after 7:30 p.m. - and had sat out on the porch all night. It had been a very wet spring and early summer up to that point and we get very heavy dew overnight. I don't know if the deliverer was running abnormally late or if it was misdelivered to someone else, who put it on my porch in the very late evening - who knows?



Hoping for the best, I've now had about 5 boxes and I think I'm just going to throw it all away and chalk it up to a loss. The cereal just doesn't have the typical crispness of the large boxes and the consistency is unappealing. Unlike the larger boxes sold in retail stores, there is no "sell by" date, so I don't know if the cereal is past it's shelf date and stale or the night spent in the great outdoors affected it. Though I can't imagine (especially after watching "How It's Made" on TV), perhaps the cereal for the small individual boxes is made differently - but in any event, I'm unwilling to give it another test and will return to buying the regular multi-serving sized boxes of the cereal at the grocery store.



Bottom line, I usually like this cereal quite a lot, but this order was a real disappointment. I debated over the rating, as I truly believe the early delivery undetected by me affected the quality of the product and the review is about the product, not the delivery. However, this particular shipment of cereal is not good - and I ultimately decided the product and the delivery was a 2 at best. Edible, but barely.

I was nervous about ordering this based on other reviews showing damaged containers. But I really like this cereal and decided to take a chance. Luckily, my order arrived intact and unscathed.



The description says 2.7 oz cups, and happily they are on the big side. I measured it out and it comes to just over a cup and a half. About what I would be eating for breakfast anyway.



The actual cup itself is thin plastic (think cottage cheese container) and it has a foil top that is easy to peel. They thoughtfully left room to add milk.



With 3 kids in sports, I keep some of these in the car for snacks, as well as a few at my desk at work. We all love them.



If you time it right, Amazon will run their twenty dollar discount on Kelloggs, which makes these cups very affordable.

Update: My latest shipment had hairline cracks in two containers so the milk leaked out. Now when I add milk I do it in the sink just in case there is a crack.

Don't bother buying this product. The price is nice as a solution to buying breakfast everyday at work, but the cheap containers that kelloggs is using now suck. 5 out of the 60 boxes I received were damaged and food was all over the box it was shipped it. The price was worth it with the discounts kelloggs offers sometimes but losing 8% of the amount paid for ruins the value.
