I gave in to my kid when she saw them in the store, even though they were very pricey. After all, the commercials on tv for cereal straws makes them seem really cool. She couldn't even make it past putting the end in her mouth. So I got my son to try it with the same results...ick! I had to try for myself and the kids were right, these things are disgusting. It tasted like cardboard with bizarre flavoring. So that was five wasted dollars on a box of these.
I called Kellogg to give them some feedback and they said that since it's a matter of my personal taste there is nothing they can do because the product is just fine, it's just my family's taste buds. Interestingly I've seen people offering these up on Freecycle, so we can't be the only ones who couldn't even eat them.
If there was an option to give zero stars I would have, but it seems I needed to click at least one. Disgusting product!!

This product has a great ad campaign... and it needs it. Bleech. Even my sugar-crazed kids don't like these. [They are currently 6 and 8 years of age and after a month and a half we've only gone through one packet of straws.]
The reason is the taste. The straws are so sugary that you can't really make out any other taste sensation, although there is a vanilla smell to them.
Vitamin-wise, they are vastly inferior to many other cereal choices. 3 straws (a serving) having only 10% of daily requirements for most of the standard cereal vitamins and minerals; and 0% iron. Compare with Cheerio's 45% and Cocoa Krispies 25% iron.
Like Cocoa Krispies there are 12 grams of sugar per serving. Compare with Cheerios' 1 gram.
So, heads up if you are considering on experimenting with these. You might as well make rice krispie treats with Cocoa Krispies, Cheerios and marshmallows for breakfast. At least they'd taste good.

I really like these individual serving bowls for the kids. They're great for on the go, school lunches, and snacks too. They're the perfect portion for my boys, who are 5, 8, and 10. I love this particular variety too. It has the frosted mini wheat, mini cinnamon swirls, reduced sugar apple jacks, reduced sugar frosted flakes, and reduced sugar froot loops. Overall with the promos and super shipping saver deal thing, this is a fantastic bargain. Also, the little bowls mean less dishes for me to wash, and the kids like the taste, so everyone is happy!

I prefer the single-serve packaging of this product to boxed packaging. I appreciate this cereal's fortification with vitamins, but find it rather lacking in flavor...best served with fruit!

It's great to see this cereal available on Amazon - it's impossible to find in the stores. it's similar to Special K but less sweet and more light and crunchy. It's a multi-grain product and even better, one single serving pack is 1 Weight Watchers Point so that makes it easy to use as a snack.

Ordered these early in the month and am back for more. Kids LOVE them. One of my "charges" is allergic to peanuts, strawberries, among others... I now prefer this product to its boxed form. It is portion-controlled, and can be consumed in the bowl provided (i.e., the number of servings it will provide is known in advance, and one can avoid clean-up if desired). I find re-using the bowls useful (freezing left-overs, disposing of messy kitchen wastes unsuitable for discarding in plumbing, etc).

This is one of the most marvelous items that I've purchased to date from the "Grocery" section of Amazon. These containers, which I think of as "motel morning" portions, are extremely convenient and quite delicious, presuming one is a Raisin Bran fan. Likewise, no matter how long the food stays in storage, my cabinets, or in the crate sitting in this cluttered abode's back room, I note that the little, light plastic, sealed containers never seem to let the bran or raisins go stale or lose their taste. I'm now working on my third crate of these little wonders. I suspect that most readers would skeptically snicker at this reviewer's infatuation with such a mundane product, but one should always take matters involving quenching of the munchies seriously, especially at an advancing age when the ol' love-beaten, soul-searching heart needn't be weighed down with the added burdens of fat, cholesterol, salt, sugars and other modern processed sludge.

I remember this cereal from when I was a kid, but I couldn't seem to find it anywhere. So I signed up to be notified when it became available from Amazon, lo and behold less than a week later I got an email telling me that it had become available. I was very pleased, until I saw the price tag. When a box of cereal costs over $46 (including s&h) it becomes less a novelty from your childhood and more a luxury item. I'm in college right now, I have just enough money for only a few luxury items; $45 is not a luxury I can afford. Five stars for the cereal, but I hope no one is foolish enough to buy it at this price.
